Delicate figure and subtle colour variation in the timbers we select require a very fine finish. Oil based finishes provide the best combination of durability and appearance and we will apply no less than four coats and up to nine to the surfaces of your piece. This technique is carried out entirely by hand and in a manner similar to the way French polishing is done with consistently stunning results.

Should your piece ever require repair or rejuvenation, we can re-apply new coats without disturbing the natural patina that develops over time.

Upon completion, a small brass plaque with an identification number is fitted to each piece. This is a guarantee that the details of your piece have been registered in our archive. We will also issue a certificate of authenticity with the piece, recording information about the maker and the timbers used.
